The desert, can it be a modern day wonderland?

What do most  of us think about when we hear the word ‘desert’? A very very dry place with literally tons of sun and sand. What exactly could one do in this environment?

Enter into the world of Markus  Kayser, who has developed some amazing equipment utilizing these two elements. His first project ‘The SunCutter’ harness’ the sun to cut design into .4m plywood or paper cards. He designs a low powered laser. Yes, that’s correct! Check it out here.

However, Markus’ thirst to utilize this energy of the sun, compels him forward to invent another piece of equipment. His next adventure takes him to the Egyptian desert suitcase in hand. That’s right! His next piece of equipment fits in a suitcase. The SolarSinter uses the process in design prototyping known as Selective Laser Sintering. Read more about this object creativity here.

Solar Charging Stations? Possibly

This is the first of 11 shown on the site ecofriend. We have started to install several EV charging units across the country. If you GOOGLE ‘electric vehicle chargers’ you get about 380,00 hits. Within the last year some of the units are being manufactured from the Fortune 500 companies, Eaton, General Electric, Leviton(allies with Coulomb), Siemens, and Schneider Electric. Many of you know these are Manufactures suppliers for the Electrical Distribution Industry.You most likely have them in you homes as the electrical panels.

Solar Film

This ground-breaking film was commissioned in 1980 by Robert Redford. If you listen at the end of the film you can hear the film’s director, Saul Bass, speak for a few seconds when he mentions something about pumping hot water to the house.
